Windy Tuesday - Rick Richardson

This may take a moment or two to load ....

Windy Tuesday

It's a windy Tuesday, a feel like getting the blues day
Got no reason to feel so down
You just can't win for losing, when there's a blues intrusion
And you're caught standing all alone

I guess I can force my feeling down to go
That's how they've always gone so far
It's par for the course to spend some time alone
I just wish I'd get under par

Guess the worst position is where there's no decision
And you're not sure just where you stand
Looks like stormy weather, I guess I should have known better
Than let it happen all again

Well I should be celebrating now with friends
As I see my dreams come true
But sometimes it's hard just waiting for the end
It's easier sitting and getting the blues

It's a windy Tuesday, a feel like getting the blues day
Got no reason to feel so down
You just can't win for losing, when there's a blues intrusion
And you're caught standing all alone

I guess I can force my feeling down to go
That's how they've always gone so far
It's par for the course to spend some time alone
I just wish I'd get under par

NOTES:

Recorded at Applewood Studio.  Just me playing guitar and singing.

I remember feeling a bit down, when I really had no reason to.  I was driving around in my convertible MG Midget, with a new girlfriend.  One of my songs was selected to be featured in a movie, and I was performing frequently in concerts in the Seattle area. Things all seemed to be going my way.  Yet, on this windy Tuesday, I felt depressed about something ... I just couldn't figure out what.

As it so happened, shortly after writing this song, I wrecked my convertible, my new girlfriend broke up with me, and the song in the movie deal fell through.

However, when everything was looking well, I should have been able to "feel good" and really get excited about my life, instead of wondering when things would fall apart.
