Holiday - Rick Richardson

This may take a moment or two to load ....

Holiday

Well it's 12:00 on a holiday
As I wait for her return
And the thought of her being here today
Makes anticipation burn

Should I say how much I've missed her
Or should I try to say nothing at all
As the echo of my holiday
Starts to call

Well the morning brings her near to me
Still she seems so far away
And the hope of her staying on with me
Takes it turn to fade again

Although she never said
I guess that I could see it in her eye
As she wishes that her holiday
Would arrive

Well it's 5:00 on a holiday
And the night time is coming in
Then we wish our luck as she turns away
And I say goodbye again

Will my love for her burn out
Or will I live and always hold the flame
As I wonder when my holiday will come again

NOTES:

This song was recorded at Apple-wood Studio in West Seattle
Just me playing guitar

After Rita had gone to college in L.A. I would see here again on a religious holiday at Lake Tahoe.  There was no spark in our meeting and I felt as empty at the end of the holiday as I did at its beginning.
