| Going Away
Six in the morning she's packing
and leaving
The note that she hoped would explain
All she'd been feeling for so long
How she just had to leave
Boarding a greyhound, there's
no turning back now
Still she feels so alone and afraid
And wonders if he'll understand
She had to be going away
She wrote in the letter
It was nothing he did
How they've just been through all this before
There's no point now in trying again
Then she tells him "I'm sorry,
but Honey, don't worry
I know it will turn out okay"
But something so hollow drops inside him
As he reads that she's going away
He pulls himself back together
And says he knows how it is
And he knows she'll be coming home soon
'Cause it can't end like this
Six in the evening, she wasn't
just leaving
but starting her life now again
He still can't believe that it's over
And she really was going away
